SMO 254 (UNS S31254) is a super-austenitic stainless steel alloy characterized by its high content of molybdenum (6%), nitrogen, and chromium, which together provide exceptional resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking in chloride-bearing environments. Its enhanced mechanical strength and outstanding welding characteristics allow it to perform reliably in demanding high-pressure and elevated-temperature environments.
