Technical Overview
Alloy 28, also known by its UNS number N08028 and DIN 1.4563, is a high-performance austenitic alloy that exhibits excellent resistance to a wide array of corrosive media. The chemical composition of Alloy 28 includes significant amounts of nickel, chromium, molybdenum, and copper, which collectively enhance its strength and corrosion resistance, particularly in environments containing sulfuric, phosphoric, and nitric acids. It also performs well in seawater and chloride-bearing conditions due to its resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. These pipes and tubes are known for their exceptional tensile strength, good weldability, and formability, making them suitable for high-pressure and high-temperature applications.
Applications & Industry Use
Alloy 28 and 253 MA Pipes & Tubes are extensively utilized across industries where corrosion and chemical exposure are major concerns. Common sectors include oil and gas pipelines, chemical processing, water treatment plants, power generation, and the pulp and paper industry. Their excellent mechanical strength and stability at both cryogenic and elevated temperatures also make them ideal for structural applications in demanding environments. From offshore drilling systems to food processing and heat exchangers, these pipes and tubes offer reliability, longevity, and safety. Each product undergoes rigorous quality testing, including pitting resistance, radiographic, PMI, IGC, and ultrasonic inspections, to ensure it meets the highest performance standards.
