Technical Overview

SS 304 is an austenitic stainless steel with a balanced composition of chromium and nickel, offering excellent corrosion resistance and weldability. SS 304L round bars, a low-carbon version of 304, enhances performance in welded structures by reducing the risk of carbide precipitation, while SS 304H provides higher strength at elevated temperatures due to increased carbon content. These round bars and rods exhibit superior mechanical characteristics such as high tensile strength, proof stress, and good elongation. The chemical makeup typically includes carbon, manganese, silicon, phosphorus, sulfur, chromium, and nickel, contributing to properties such as thermal conductivity, modulus of expansion, and corrosion resistance. Manufactured in accordance with ASTM A276 and other international standards, these products are also tested for hardness, straightness, and surface finish before dispatch.
