Technical Overview

Stainless steel 410 is a hardenable martensitic alloy containing approximately 11.5% chromium, which provides moderate corrosion resistance along with excellent strength and wear resistance. When properly heat-treated and tempered, this grade delivers remarkable mechanical properties and enhanced performance in mildly corrosive environments. It offers strong resistance to exposure from air, water, food acids, and a range of industrial chemicals including nitric acid, dilute acetic acid, and naphtha. With its good formability and machinability, SS 410 is well-suited for structural applications requiring both durability and resistance to oxidation under elevated temperatures.

Applications & Industry Use

Owing to its robust performance characteristics—such as high tensile and yield strength, dimensional precision, thermal stability, and resistance to corrosion and scaling—SS 410 and SS 446 pipes and tubes are extensively used across a variety of sectors.
